2 luxury villas in Corfu – Arhondiko & Kokkini

Here at Vintage Travel we are delighted to announce we have expanded our 2014 programme of villas with private pools on the Greek island of Corfu. Part of our comprehensive luxury villas in Corfu programme has been the addition of ten top quality, hand-picked villas that can sleep between four and 11 guests.

Kokkini

One of our newest additions to our Corfu portfolio is a stunning property known as Arhondiko, which means ‘mansion’ in Greek. This impeccably renovated 19th century country home was originally owned by an aristocratic family. The family’s remarkable history is fondly reminisced throughout the property. Photographs in the library room represent two gentlemen stood in front of Arhondikho. Stood beside the owner of the property is Constantinos Karamalis, Greek’s first Prime Minister of the modern era.

This huge country villa comprises of five bedrooms, three of which are en-suite, and can comfortably  sleep up to 11 guests. The main house enjoys a split-level dining room, living room, library and traditional kitchen. There is also a snug annexe which has a twin bedroom, kitchenette and shower room. Arhondiko seamlessly combines a contemporary and traditional décor. The mansion boasts many compelling treasures, including antique botanical prints, a carved wooden trunk and an old dresser.

Being located on the sun-drenched island of Corfu, there is a heavy emphasis on outdoor living at Ardondikho. A 14 metre-long pool invites you to cool down in the translucent water. A number of large terraces on several levels provide ample space for guests to spread out, sunbathe and relax. For those seeking shade from the often harsh Greek sun, grapevines provide some much-needed shadows on some of the terraces. These spacious and well-maintained grounds have the additional privilege of being surrounded by the most stunning of views of the nearby Ropa Valley and the distant mountains.

A week’s rental cost at Arhondiko on Corfu begins at £1595 at the beginning of May and rising to £3750 in peak season. For more information about this stunning country mansion, click HERE.

Alternatively you could always stay at Kokkini, another villa that is new to our 2014 Corfu programme. Similar to Arhondiko, Kokkini boasts panoramic views of the stunning surrounding countryside.

This four bedroom villa can sleep up to eight guests. All of the bedrooms are en-suite. Internally, Kokkini comprises of a spacious living/dining area. Sliding glass doors cause ample light to flood into the living area and a quick route to the covered outdoor terrace. Externally, Kokkini is equally as delightful. A large private pool is set amongst olive trees, firs and cypresses, providing shade a seclusion for swimmers. Augmenting the specialness of this gem of a Corfu villa is the access to a ‘secret’ swimming platform via some quirky steps.

Guests staying at Kokkini can enjoy meandering and discovering the nearby valleys and ancient olive groves. Exploring the bays and coves of this stretch of coastline by boat is another popular way for guests of Kokkini to spend the day.  For parties of up to four, five and six guests, small party rates are available outside of peak season.

A week’s rental cost in Kokkini at the beginning of May is priced at £2595, rising to £5395 in high season. For more information about Kokkini on Corfu, click HERE.
